The world was rocked by yet another terrorist attack on Friday, this time in Parachinar, Pakistan.
Breitbart reported that 22 people were killed and between 50 and 70 were injured when bombs went off outside a Shiite mosque as people gathered for Friday prayers. The blast reportedly occurred in a crowded Noor marketplace.
Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of the Pakistani Taliban, has already claimed responsibility for this attack.
The exact cause of the explosion is not known at this time, but officials think it was a car bomb in a vehicle left outside of the women’s entrance to the mosque. Many of the victims were women and children, and five of the wounded are listed in critical condition.
The Pakistani Prime Minister’s Office released a statement saying Nawaz Sharif “strongly condemned the bomb blast … that resulted into the loss of precious human lives and injured many others.”
It added that Sharif sympathized with the affected families and prayed for the deceased and those injured. The statement also said Sharif “reiterated his government’s unflinching resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country at all costs.”
”The network of terrorists has already been broken and it is our national duty to continue this war until the complete annihilation of the scourge of terrorism from our soil,” Sharif said in the statement.
Please pray for all those affected by this attack!
