What does blind and unquestionable commitment to multiculturalism get you? For the residents of the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, it grants them the privilege of having a jihadist Sharia Law Police patrol, led by a noted nut job Muslim convert, assume an intrusive and completely anti-democratic vigilante role.
Walking through the streets of Cedar-Riverside is a scraggly bearded trouble making young man formerly called Devon James Miller, but now using the appellation Abdullah Rashid. Dressed in Islamic garb adorned with a shoulder patch reading ‘General Presidency of the Religious Affairs and Welfare of the Ummah’, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that the man’s self-appointed duties are unnerving residents.
(Nothing unsettling about this guy, right?)
“Rashid said he aims to turn Cedar-Riverside into a ‘sharia-controlled zone’ where Muslims are learning about the proper practices of Islam and that ‘non-Muslims are asked to respect’ it,” writes the Tribune.
The term ‘respect’ is a bit overgenerous because, as the Tribune notes, Rashid has openly talked of terrorism, the arrest of Muslims trying to join ISIS, and has even posted “a video entitled ‘Never Trust Non-Muslims’ by Anwar al-Awlaki, leader of an Al-Qaida affiliate in Yemen, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in 2011.”
Rashid has claimed that he has gained a following of ten men who will assist him in his patrols to prevent alcohol and drug abuse, enforce Muslim dress codes, and carry out the kind of misogynist rules that should have feminists screaming to the rafters.
Local police have said that they are on top of the situation and I am sure they will apprehend him shortly after he commits some heinous act of terrorism that will claim more American lives all in the name of diversity.
