It is becoming more and more funny to witness that as President Trump goes about doing his job, he is revealing the negligence and outright lies of the Obama administration that have been, up to this point, so carefully squirreled away by the media.
President Trump’s strike on Syria has brought attention to past U.S. ‘actions’, if they can be called that, taken by Obama. What is being uncovered is shocking.
The day before 59 cruise missiles turned Shayat airbase in Syria into useless pot marked real estate, National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster let out of the bag the fact that Obama’s promise that Syria was “100 percent” cleared of chemical weapons was a lie.
The Weekly Standard quotes McMaster as saying, “there was an effort to minimize—to minimize risk to third-country nationals at that airport [Shayat]—I think you read Russians from that—but that—and we took great pains to try to avoid that. Of course, in any kind of military operation, there are no guarantees. And then there were also measures put in place to avoid hitting what we believe is a storage of sarin gas, so that that would not be ignited and cause a hazard to civilians or anyone else.”
Despite the platitudes of Syria being WMD free, McMaster says that the Trump administration designed its’ target list around the perceived fact that gas was present at the base.
Where would McMaster and Trump draw such assertions from?
According to American Interest, it was from the Obama administration itself. In February of 2016, Obama’s Director of National Intelligence James Clapper acknowledged “gaps and inconsistencies in Syria’s declaration” and then there was this gem of truth buried in bureaucratic rubbish: Obama’s Treasury sanctioned Syria in 2016 because “Abbas has continued operating at locations in Syria associated with chemical warfare-related missions.”
America, Obama LIED…to our faces and did so repeatedly with no sense of shame. President Trump has been left with cleaning up after the petulant child that is Obama.
