When Melania Trump first became First Lady, her honor was put at stake when the British tabloid Daily Mail published a story claiming that she had once worked as an escort. Devastated by the allegation, Melania filed a massive lawsuit to try and get her honor back.
On Wednesday, she was overjoyed to learn that she had come out victorious in this lawsuit.
ABC News reported that Melania won her lawsuit when she accepted an apology from the Daily Mail publisher as well as $2.9 million in damages. Daily Mail released a statement retracting claims that Melania “provided services beyond simply modeling” and agreed to pay damages and costs.
Melania Trump’s lawyer, Charles Harder, released a statement praising the outcome.
“First lady Melania Trump is very pleased that she has resolved this matter favorably with the Daily Mail, which has issued a full and complete retraction and apology for its false statements about her, and agreed to pay her millions of dollars in damages and full reimbursement of her legal fees,” Harder said. “Mrs. Trump will remain vigilant to protect her good name and reputation from those who make false and defamatory statements about her.”
Please pray that Melania never has to go through anything like this ever again. She’s our First Lady, and she DESERVES our RESPECT!
