On Thursday night, President Donald Trump launched an airstrike on Syria in response to the deadly chemical terror attack launched by the Assad regime there this week that left over 100 dead. Now, Russia has broken their silence about the attack, and they are not happy about it…
Western Journalism reported that Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev spoke out on Friday to condemn Trump for launching the attack.
“This military action is a clear indication of the US President’s extreme dependency on the opinion of the Washington establishment, the one that the new president strongly criticized in his inauguration speech,” Medvedev wrote on Facebook Friday morning.
“Instead of an overworked statement about a joint fight against the biggest enemy, ISIS, the Trump administration proved that it will fiercely fight the legitimate Syrian government, in a tough contradiction with international law and without UN approval, in violation of its own procedures stipulating that the Congress must first be notified of any military operation unrelated to aggression against the US,” he added. “On the verge of a military clash with Russia.”
He went on to say that Trump’s decision to strike the Syrian airbase had “completely ruined relations” between the U.S. and Russia and has empowered ISIS.
“Soon after his victory, I noted that everything would depend on how soon Trump’s election promises would be broken by the existing power machine. It took only two and a half months,” the Russian prime minister concluded.
Trump, however, has stood by what he did.
“Years of previous attempts at changing Assad’s behavior have all failed and failed very dramatically,” the president said from his Mar-a-Lago resort.
“Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack,” he added. “No child of God should ever suffer such horror.”
