A massive explosions occurred on Tuesday at a munitions plant near Independence Missouri.
The Political Insider reported that the explosion left at least one person dead and three injured. The Army Joint Munitions Command confirmed that the explosion occurred at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, but would not give any more details about it.

Small-caliber ammunition is manufactured at this plant, which operates the North Atlantic Treaty Organization test center. The plant reportedly makes 1.4 billion rounds of ammunition a year and is located in Independence on 3,935 acres.
No cause of the explosion has been released, so it is not known if it was accidental or intentional. We will update you further as this story develops.
