On Wednesday, it was reported that Fox News has fired Bill O’Reilly after a series of damning sexual harassment claims against him came to light. Once the allegations came out, over 90 companies pulled their advertising from The O’Reilly Factor, leaving Fox News with no choice but to cut ties with O’Reilly.
Now, however, the real reason the advertisers ditched O’Reilly has been revealed…
The Blaze reported that former Fox News host Glenn Beck has obtained an email suggesting that progressive media watchdog group Media Matters orchestrated the advertiser exodus from O’Reilly’s program.

“For years,” the email begins, “Bill O’Reilly has been one of the worst purveyors of misinformation on Fox News. A serial misinformer, pushing many of the most extreme, sexist, racist, homophobic, and xenophobic conservative theories on TV.”
The email was written by Mary Pat Bonner, president of the Bonner Group, who served as a “donor adviser” to former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign. In the April 13 email, Bonner boasts about the success of her firm and Media Matters’ “advertiser education campaign” against O’Reilly.
“We are currently at a critical juncture in this campaign,” she wrote, going on to recipients to join a couple of “update calls” on Thursday and Friday.
