Well, it looks like that President Trump wasn’t the only one in the family to become enamored with politics. Of course Ivanka and Jared are actively serving in his administration, but it’s Don Jr who has expressed his desire to ditch the corporate world and throw his hat into the political arena.
Speaking at a gun club in New York on Tuesday, Trump Jr said that he would love to follow in the footsteps of his father.
The New York Post picks up the story from there:
A guest at Tuesday’s meeting told Page Six, “Don Jr. said he is interested in running for office, such as governor of New York, but the position of mayor of New York would be less interesting to him.”
Don Jr. added that he didn’t want to be one of 100 Senators, nor a member of Congress.
Campaigning alongside his father made him think about his future, with him saying, “Do I want to be behind the scenes and be a mouthpiece and fight back against crazy liberal media? Maybe.” Don Jr. joked that he missed the intensity of the presidential campaign: “Going back to doing deals is boring after 18 months. The politics bug bit me.”
If there’s a state that’s crying out for political leadership, it’s New York. He was certainly impressive on the campaign trail working for his father and at the convention, maybe he’ll do well!
What do you think?
